Meet Hank the CAUSEBOX Office Dog

July 16, 2017

It’s no secret that we love dogs at CAUSEBOX. We think just about everyone can agree that dogs brighten our days. Whether you get to pet a precious puppy at your favorite coffee shop or your own dog makes a certain noise or face you can’t get enough of, there’s nothing better than sweet moments with furry friends.

CAUSEBOX team member Hank Montesi (Insta: @hank_tesi) is the only office perk that can beat the bottomless Stumptown cold brew coffee in the fridge, and he helps us keep smiling when deadlines get tight. Whether he’s hanging out in LA or on the road with his dad (me, John Montesi!), Hank is happiest laying at my feet chewing a stick into little tiny pieces. His appreciation of the simple things is a sweet reminder in my own life to stay grateful, stay curious, and stay happy.

Where is Hank from?

The animal shelter in Pleasanton, Texas. I found him through Austin Pets Alive!, one of the largest organizations in the country dedicated to making the greater Austin area a no-kill city.

How old is he?

As best as everyone can tell, he’s about two years old. Thankfully, he has floppy skin and energy to spare, so he plans to keep acting like a puppy for as long as he can get away with it.

What kind of dog is Hank?

He’s a Catahoula, which is the state dog of Louisiana!

What’s his best trick?

I’ve been working on getting him to let me balance a treat on his forehead while he sits there and stares at me, concentrating way too hard. He likes to remind everyone as often as possible that he knows how to shake, though.

What’s his life dream?

His biggest goal in life is to visit everyone who wants to give him a belly rub and a treat. He’s seen the Washington Monument, the Liberty Bell, and is in the double digits for National Park visits. Not bad for a young Catahoula from South Texas!

Now you know Hank a little better. We’d love to learn more about all of the dogs, cats, rabbits, and hamsters in the CAUSEBOX Family!

John is the managing editor at CAUSEBOX and a traveling writer who lives on the road with his dog, Hank.
